DETAILS
This tournament is dedicated to long-time Manchester resident Win Hoyt. Win started skiing at Bromley in the late 1930's when it opened, arriving in Manchester from New York by train. That activity was curtailed by World War II when Win was a colonel in the Air Force mostly in England where he met his wife, Lyn. After the war Win bought property on Toll Gate Road in Manchester and built a house that is still in the family. When he retired from the advertising business in 1965, Lyn and Win made their home here. Not one to sit idle, he became very involved in the Manchester community. He was involved with the purchase of Hildene and its establishment as what it is today. An avid golfer, he and a group of members started the Ekwanok Scholarship Fund which has given assistance through many years to innumerable Ekwanok employees to complete their education. It continues strongly today. He was also very active in the Manchester Chamber of Commerce serving a term as president. Over the years Lyn and Win were very generous supporters of the community. Proceeds benefit Bennington County Habitat for Humanity. Your support enables us to build a world where everyone has a safe, decent, and affordable place to live.
